Kitchens and Built-in Cabinets
We make kitchen cabinets, built-in wardrobes, TV units and shelving to measure in our own workshop and fit them on site.

Our work
Kefken Ahşap Dekorasyon makes interior joinery to measure: kitchen cabinets, built-in cupboards, wardrobes, TV units and shelving. We prepare the carcasses and doors in our own workshop, and our own team fits them on site. Replacing doors on existing cabinets and renewing their paint or varnish also fall under this heading.
What work falls under this heading?
- Kitchen cabinets: Base and wall units, tall units and doors.
- Built-in cupboards: Floor-to-ceiling cupboards for hallways, bedrooms and entrances.
- TV units and shelving: Wall-fitted units, open shelves and bookcases.
- Other cabinets: Vanity units under the basin, sideboards and made-to-measure cabinets.
Doors can be painted matt in the colour you want, or varnished to keep the natural look of the wood; sideboards and shelves can be made with the same finish.
What is the difference between painted and varnished doors?
On a painted door the surface is sanded and primed, then several coats of paint go on in the colour you want; it can be matt or gloss, and the grain is hidden. Varnish is a clear or tinted protective coat that shows the wood's own colour and grain. Which finish to choose depends on how the room is used and the look you want: in a kitchen a wipeable surface comes first, in a bedroom the warmth of the wood may.
How does a kitchen or built-in cupboard job work?
- Site visit and measurement: We measure the walls, the ceiling height and the positions of sockets and services, and check whether the walls are straight.
- Plan and quote: We settle the carcass and shelf layout, the door type, the colour and the handles, and prepare a quote.
- Workshop fabrication: Carcasses and doors are cut and assembled, then painted or varnished.
- Installation: The cabinets are fitted in place and the doors and drawers are adjusted.
Can existing cabinets be renewed?
Where the carcass is sound, replacing only the doors, or sanding and repainting them, is often enough. On solid timber sideboards and cupboards the old finish can be stripped and a new varnish applied. Handles and hinges can be changed at the same time. Doors to be painted are usually taken off, painted in the workshop, then refitted and adjusted. For furniture painting and finishing, see our Furniture and Finishing page as well.
Frequently asked questions
What information do you need for kitchen cabinets at the first contact?
Rough dimensions of the kitchen and a few photos are enough. We settle the positions of services and appliances together at the site visit.
How is the inside of a built-in cupboard laid out?
Hanging space, shelves, drawers and shoe compartments are planned around what you will store. We decide the layout together at the quote stage.
Can I choose the door colour myself?
Yes. For painted doors the colour is your choice; for doors with a wood look we decide the varnish tone together.
Can I replace only the doors of my old cabinets?
If the carcass is sound, yes. We measure and make the new doors to fit the existing carcass.
What determines the price?
The size of the cabinets, the carcass and door material, the finish (paint or varnish), the interior layout and the fittings set the price. We give an exact figure after measuring.
